YOUNG BEACH international 2021

Beach volleyball players from Denmark, the Czech Republic, Germany and Hellas came together from 9 to 11 July at Sportpark Bramfeld to challenge each other. The participants from Germany came not only from Hamburg, but also from Kiel, Berlin and Münster. The organizational foundation was laid by many volunteer club members and committed parents of players.


The high-class junior competitive sport was broadcast via livestream to Scandinavia and Southern Europe. The excellently suited sports facility of Bramfelder SV also made international encounters possible off the pitches.

Only through many committed partners could the event succeed. Through informal, intercultural learning, YOUNG BEACH internationally, with the support of the Johann Daniel Lawaetz Foundation, has contributed to strengthening the civil courage of the participants. As a successful sporting event by young people from the common Europe, the weekend fun contributed to anti-racist education and the fight against right-wing extremist aspirations.


An important, high-profile building block: The state program "City with Courage" made it possible to print the player shirts with the slogan "Hamburg professes color", which now work throughout Europe for more tolerance and against prejudices. Due to the pandemic, all event modules that provided for public participation had to be cancelled.
