Beach volleyball players from Tanzania, Germany and Hellas came together from 15 to 17 July at Sportpark Bramfeld to challenge each other. The participants from Germany came not only from Hamburg, but also from Kiel, Lübeck and Buchholz. The organizational foundation was laid by many volunteer club members and committed parents of players.
The excellently suited sports facility of Bramfelder SV also made international encounters possible off the pitches. As an additional module, an open training for children and young people was offered on Friday – there too, the response was international.
Only through many committed partners could the event succeed. Through informal, intercultural learning, YOUNG BEACH internationally, with the support of the Johann Daniel Lawaetz Foundation, has contributed to strengthening the civil courage of the participants. As a successful sporting event by young people from the common Europe, the weekend fun acted as a local contribution to anti-racist education and the fight against right-wing extremist aspirations.
Decisive for this success is also the promotion of the state sports office and the equipment with material of the "Active City". A reliable partner for event logistics is the car-sharing company cambio.
